Do I have to anchor the safe, and how do I do that?
Yes, a safe up to 1000kg (if not stated differently by your insurance company) must be anchored, as otherwise the insurance may lapse.
If the safe should be anchored on the rear wall or base plate depends entirely upon the different circumstances at the point of installation. In the case of a brick wall, we recommend the anchoring through the base plate. If you are uncertain about this, please contact us so we can find a fitting solution together..
The safe will be anchored through the base plate or rear wall by using heavy duty anchor. The heavy duty anchor has a length of at least 16 cm and is available in our shop. It is important that the drilling hole and the anchor are compatible.
Wall Safes - How does the installation work?
Our company delivers a large variety of different wall safes, but we are not responsible for installing them. We recommend that you hire a craftsman to will professionally carry out the installation for you.
Please note: The safe must be fixed in the wall whilst the door is open. We recommend for the safe door to be supported with wooden pillars, as the wall safes carry their main weight on the door. After fixing it in the wall the saafe must be left open for another 24 hours in order to fully dry.

Which safe can be recommended / what do you have to pay attention to?
First you will have to consider the value of the contents. Here, you have to consider that your safe will be used over a long period of time, which is why future valuables have to be included in the calculation. This results in the selection of the appropriate security level, starting from level S1 and S2, followed by the higher security classes 0 to 5.
Secondly, you should check if a n additional, certified fire protection is needed, or if a modest fire protection, which is included in most safes of security class 0, suffices. A decent fire protection means that the safe is filled with fire-inhibiting materials which offers slight resistance against fires. Especially sensitive documents, however, should be stored in a certified fire protection safe, or, alternatively, in a fire protection cassette inside of the safe.
Further Information can be found here:
WHow high is my safe insurable?
The safes are insurable to a different extent depending on their certification. Which certification the particular safe belongs to can be found on the relevant safe page at the top left corner under "Security Level".
A list of the maximum insured sums of all security classes can be found under the following link:
New safe, but which lock?
There is clear trend going into the direction of electronic locks, as these are very comfortable. (No key loss, code can be changed at any time, no need to carry a key, potential burglars will not look for a key and thus will not ravage the apartment or house) It is essential to ensure that the electronic comes with an emergency key o an emergency powe supply for cases in which the batteries have not been changed.
A key-lock is recommended if you do not want to remember a code, if the safe is to be accessed only rarely, or if clear authorization structures are available (e.g. in companies where only two people should have access to the safe).
The classic mechanic combination lock offers, just as the electronic lock, the advantage that keys are made redundant. These locks are furthermore very sturdy and reliable. A drawback is that the handing of the lock can be rather complicated.
Protection from Burglaries - Does a safe make sense?
The purchasing of a safe is most certainly a good prevention to avoid the theft of documents and valuables..
Based on our 30-days experience we have formulated the following theses:
- Burglars will hardly ever try to cut open a safe inside of your apartment or house if they do not know what is inside of the safe
- Burglars will try to get the safe out of the house so that they can open it in peace (Which is why an anchoring is essential for safes under 999kg!)
- If the safe comes with a key-lock, it is possible that the burglars will search for the key in your apartment and that they will damage your home.
The ideal safe is the one which can not be found by burglars. This is why we highly recommend wall safes, which can be hidden, for example, behind a painting. If you do not have the option of installing the safe inside a wall you could also purchase a inexpensive "Alibi"-safe which will trick the burglars. The main safe can then be hidden in a secret location, such as your basement.
Can the safe also be ordered with special measurements?
Yes! On request, we will gladly have the safe you need manufactured in the custom dimensions you require. Simply ask us for information free of obligation:
Are the measurements mentioned in the product description exact?
